Southeastern Alaska Distribution: Known only from Prince of Wales Island (Cardot and Theriot, 1902).
Habitat: Known from shaded and damp barren soils, especially those which are sandy and loamy.
Comments: Commonly with sporophytes. The Alaskan citation is the most northerly in North America.
