Southeastern Alaska Distribution: Throughout.
Habitat: Common in mature forests on disturbed, inorganic soils, along trails, road cuts, stream banks, overturned tree roots, occasionally in the tundra of the subalpine or lower alpine.
Comments: Frequently with sporophytes. In southeastern Alaska this species is common, often abundant.
