Cryptomya californicaCalifornia smoothshell clamThis tiny little clam lives in the walls of the burrows of the burrowing shrimp Puget Sound Mud Shrimp (Upogebia pugettensis), and of the spoonworm Alaska spoonworm (Echiurus sitchaensis). It has a short "foot" and tends to move around quite rapidly in proportion to its size.
