Southeastern Alaska Distribution: Known only from Sitka (Lesquereux and James, 1884) and from 18 miles WNW of Ketchikan (Hermann 22169).
Habitat: On rocks in exposed places, often where somewhat moist.
Comments: Frequently with sporophytes. Sitka is the northernmost site for the species.
