Southeastern Alaska Distribution: New to Alaska. From: Vicinity of Nunatak Knob, east shore of Muir Inlet, south of McBride Glacier, Glacier Bay, Worley 10271.
Habitat: The Alaskan specimen was growing in a moss mat over recent till in a moist area by a pond. Elsewhere in its range the species is known also from sandy substrates and from among other bryophytes in sunny sites.
Comments: Commonly with sporophytes.
