Southeastern Alaska Distribution: See Map 143. Throughout.
Habitat: Known from rocks where wet and shaded; streams, lakesides, cliffs, canyon walls; sometimes inundated or in constant spray. From sea level to the subalpine.
Comments: Frequently with sporophytes. The species is sub-oceanic throughout most of its range, and is essentially oceanic in Alaska.
