Southeastern Alaska Distribution: Widespread and common below the 57th parallel.
Habitat: On the bases of trees, on logs and on decaying wood; occasionally on rocks.
Comments: The species is rarely, if ever, fertile, but the caducous leaves possibly serve as propagulants.
