Southeastern Alaska Distribution: Common throughout.
Habitat: Frequent and often abundant on more or less humid soils in the roots of windthrows, the cutbanks of streams, and on cliff shelves andledges. From sea level to the lower alpine.
Comments: Occasionally fertile, then the colonies have abundant sporophytes.
