Southeastern Alaska Distribution: Known from Dyea Creek (near Skagway) (Williams, 1901) and Harbor Mountain above Sitka (Worley and Boas, 10077).
Habitat: The Sitka plants were growing on a subalpine-alpine tundra ridge. Elsewhere in its range the species grows in wet tundra, or in tall tufts on moist, preferably calcareous soil in mountains.
Comments: The Sitka site may be the southern limit of the species on the coast of western North America.
