Southeastern Alaska Distribution: See Map 125. Throughout. [as A. c. var. gigantea] See Map 126. Throughout.
Habitat: Festooning living trees, occasionally on rocks and logs, rarely on mineral soils. Also on wharfs and older buildings. Sea level to the subalpine. [as A. c. var. gigantea] Apparently similar to that of the species.
Comments: Not infrequently with sporophytes, generally when on trees.
